Back to the Future - Applications for Today

The last class in this study brings the students back to their context today. This class will help the students understand how a lack of interest in ecumenism has negatively impacted the Church, and still negatively impacts it today.

The first section of the class is a brief explanation of the different developments in philosophy that criticize or attack the Church (i.e., Atheism, Deism, Darwinism, etc.). These philosophical attacks on the Church are, partly, in response to the Thirty Years’ War and the lack of concern for ecumenism which has divided the Church into thousands of different denominations.
